How you dress makes a statement about you.
In times of uncertainty, like the present, you have to project confidence to show that you standout from the crowd.
You have to put down a marker, make a statement about yourself or you will just get swept along and away.
An over-scale, bold necklace can give you the quickest shortcut to update yourself.
So if this autumn/winter season is about making a statement about yourself, then it is
not just, as it has been, with daring shoes or shouting bags.
Now your clothing has to contain an assertive statement about you and how you feel confident in troubled times.
You have to focus on your clothing, whether it is pencil or moulded skirts, minidreses, lace-lavished garments, glam-goth trousers, structured coats.
Traditionally autumn is associated with muted colours, but not this year. Rich tones are dominant, even pink is a colour this season. At night black was the queen of the colours, but this year at Harrods, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols you will see that all designer evening dresses are very colourful.
You can find these various things from different high street outlets too: Principles, Topshop, Marks & Spencer, Oasis, Banana Republic, Mango, George and Warehouse.
When the going get’s tough, the tough are unafraid to make statements about themselves.
